WHY IT WORKS

What EMBER is, minus the category nonsense.

This is a caffeine and green tea extract product with a few supporting botanicals. That is a real thing with real, modest evidence. It is not a metabolic switch.

The caffeine and catechin pairing

Green tea extract with caffeine is the combination with the most human data behind it for energy expenditure. It is the reason this formula exists.

A pre-meal routine

Taken 20 to 30 minutes before a meal with a full glass of water. The structure is part of the point.

Something to train alongside

Best used by people already moving and already watching what they eat. It supports that work; it does not substitute for it.

No ketosis claim

Raspberry ketones do not put you into ketosis despite the name. We will not print that claim, and you should be sceptical of any brand that does.

The Research

Small, real, and smaller than the ads suggest.

Two studies showing a measurable effect, and one showing that a headline ingredient in this category barely holds up.

  1. +4%

A green tea extract rich in catechins taken with caffeine increased 24-hour energy expenditure by about 4% versus placebo in healthy men, an effect the authors attributed to more than the caffeine alone.

Dulloo AG, et al. Efficacy of a green tea extract rich in catechin polyphenols and caffeine in increasing 24-h energy expenditure. Am J Clin Nutr. 1999.

  2. Modest

A meta-analysis of green tea catechin trials found a small but statistically significant effect on weight loss and weight maintenance. Small is the operative word.

Hursel R, et al. The effects of green tea on weight loss and weight maintenance: a meta-analysis. Int J Obes (Lond). 2009.

  3. Against us

A meta-analysis of randomised trials on garcinia extract, one of the ingredients in this blend, concluded any effect on weight is small and of questionable clinical relevance.

Onakpoya I, et al. The Use of Garcinia Extract (Hydroxycitric Acid) as a Weight Loss Supplement: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of RCTs. J Obes. 2011.

Simple as 1 · 2 · 3

A measured caffeine habit, taken before meals.

1

One capsule, twice a day

Take each one 20 to 30 minutes before a meal with a full 8 oz glass of water.

2

Keep the second one early

This contains caffeine. Take the second capsule with lunch rather than dinner so it is clear of your sleep.

3

Judge it over weeks, not days

Any effect here is small and cumulative, and it only shows up alongside the diet and training you are already doing.

How to Use How to use EMBER

Take one (1) capsule twice a day. For best results take each capsule 20 to 30 minutes before a meal with an 8 oz (236 ml) glass of water, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Do not exceed the recommended dose. This product contains caffeine — count it alongside your coffee, not on top of it without thinking.

Count your total caffeine Add this to your coffee, tea and pre-workout. Most guidance puts the ceiling for healthy adults around 400 mg a day from all sources.
Nothing after early afternoon Caffeine has a half-life of around five hours, and longer in some people. A late second capsule will cost you sleep, and sleep matters more here than the capsule does.
Not a licence to skip meals Appetite suppression from stimulants is not the same as eating well. Protein and fibre at each meal will do more for you than this will.
Stop if you feel wired Jitteriness, a racing heart or trouble sleeping means the dose is wrong for you. Drop to one capsule a day or stop entirely.
Warnings Warnings & safety

Contains caffeine

This product contains caffeine from natural sources. Do not combine with other stimulant products, and take your total daily intake from all sources into account. Caffeine can cause jitteriness, a rapid heartbeat, anxiety and disturbed sleep. Not recommended for anyone sensitive to stimulants.

Not suitable if you have heart or blood pressure conditions

Do not use if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, an anxiety disorder, thyroid disease or diabetes without speaking to your doctor first. Stimulants can raise heart rate and blood pressure.

Green tea extract and liver health

Concentrated green tea extract has, in rare cases, been associated with liver injury. Take it with food rather than on an empty stomach, do not exceed the dose, and stop immediately and see a doctor if you notice abdominal pain, dark urine or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Pregnancy, nursing and under 18

Do not use if pregnant or nursing, or if you are under 18. Anyone with a known medical condition or taking prescription medication should consult a physician before use.

Honest fat-burner page

Good energy, watch timing

Works well, but do not take the second capsule late. They are serious about the caffeine warning.

Good Questions

Everything you might be wondering about EMBER.

Does this put me into ketosis? +

No. Raspberry ketones share a name with the ketone bodies your liver makes during ketosis, and that is the whole of the connection. Eating them does not raise blood ketones or shift your metabolism into a fat-burning state. Only a very low carbohydrate intake or extended fasting does that. Any product claiming otherwise is misleading you.

So what does it actually do? +

It is a caffeine and green tea catechin product. That combination raised 24-hour energy expenditure by roughly 4% in a controlled trial, and a meta-analysis found a small effect on weight. Small, real, and only meaningful alongside a calorie deficit and training you are doing anyway.

How much caffeine is in it? +

The formula uses caffeine anhydrous plus caffeine naturally present in green tea and green coffee bean. Check the Supplement Facts panel on your bottle for the exact amount, and count it toward your daily total rather than on top of your usual coffee.

Can I take it with coffee? +

You can, but be deliberate. Most guidance puts a safe ceiling for healthy adults at about 400 mg of caffeine a day from all sources. If you already drink three coffees, consider dropping one on the days you take this.

When should I take the second capsule? +

With lunch, not dinner. Caffeine has a half-life of around five hours, so an evening dose is still working at bedtime. Poor sleep will undo more than this capsule contributes.

Why are you talking down your own product? +

Because the fat-burner category is built on claims that do not survive contact with the research, and we would rather sell you something you can trust than something you feel misled by in three weeks. If a modest thermogenic alongside your own effort is not what you want, do not buy it.
